beware of the boys

panjabi mc

I can't wait for the first of September to arrive, and I can begin my veganism project. I've been looking up recipes and reading good substitutes for egg and cheese, and the likes.
I'm so excited. So. Excited.

I also can't wait for the 30 days to be over, so I can see if there is a difference when you don't eat any form of animal byproduct. I read that dairy can cause breakouts, so better skin?

The idea has been brewing in my head for a while, but after I saw the vegan mayonnaise in my fridge, I decided that this was going to be a thing. And after looking up the "how to go from a vegetarian to a vegan", I came across PETA's pledge to be vegan for 30 days. It was great because I hadn't even thought about doing a test run of sorts to see if I am able to be a vegan.

My reasons for becoming a vegan are predominantly selfish. It's not that I don't care for the animals -- I am already vegetarian -- but by being vegan you are healthier. You have more energy. More vitality. More strength due to the nutritious content of those leafy greens.

Hopefully, this test-run goes well.

woes of FOOD

I found out that Nutella isn't completely great for me to eat - and not in the fat calorie counting way. Apparently the whey powder they use is derived from rennet. Probably not vegetarian, and definitely not vegan.
(8/29. The whey is actually derived from milk, so it is okay for vegetarians. just prematurely freaked out, no biggggie. but it IS A BIGGIE FOR VEGANS, even 30 day ones.)
Which, by the way, I am pledging to become for the month of September. I have always toyed around with the idea of veganism in my head, but refuted it because I suck at eating my peas and carrots (what is this called? This crossword puzzle told me that there is a word that means it. Perrots?)

What started this idea?
My mom brought home vegan mayonnaise.

Is this going to work?

YES. I will not succumb and eat dairy, or whatever else that doesn't constitute as being vegan.

Oh, and I'm watching Young and Vanished. It is intriguing, and sad.

I really like this song at :45. It makes running so much more fun... until i try to dance and run at the same time on a treadmill, and barely save myself from hitting the wall. However, there isn't really lyrics that I can belt out while running, which would be a slightly better idea than dancing.

I can't believe I haven't updated in month! Or that I'm a senior now.

I'm trying to write this thing on my thoughts of what it means to be a hipster, and the difference between that and indie, and the whole idiotic-ness of labels.

I saw Scott Pilgrim, and bought the last book (finally). The movie was really good, espesh the battle of the bands scene with the Katayamagi twins and Scott Pilgrim. I think I might do my thoughts on that movie as well. I liked the last book, though. I need to reread the series, because I haven't read books 1-4 since last summer.

I've been watching too many movie trailers. I have a list of movies that haven't come out yet that I need to see. On the top: Black Swan. Oh, and I saw the trailer for a Spanish film, I think, called Daniel & Ana, and it was weird. It was about this brother and sister, Daniel and Ana, who had pretty good lives, then both of them are kidnapped and forced to engage in sexual encounters with each other. The whole movie is about how it affected them. It sounds intriguing, but I don't know if I want to see it.

OH AND I FINALLY SAW RUN LOLA RUN. So good.

And I babysitted today. The little boy wanted to watch Hari Puttar (He actually meant Harry Potter, but he said it like that. It was funny to me because Bollywood did create a film called Hari Puttar that was VERY similar to Harry Potter...wonder why?) and asked if it was 'otay.'

This is the last thing I'm going to write, I swear.
I can't stop listening to/and watching the videos of Love the Way You Lie by Eminem and Black Sheep by Metric/Clash at Demonhead.
I have memorized the lyrics the Black Sheep. COMMITTED TO MEMORY YES.

okay bye
